Only Seven Weeks Old!

This little guy has been pretty busy.  Only seven weeks old and has travelled on an airplane, clocked enough travel time in his car seat to rivel most adults during the summer and endured his first photography session.  Whew!  He needs a vacation - already!

Watch for photographs of his sister in my next post - she could be a professional ham :)

All American High School Senior!

Recently, I spent the afternoon with this high school senior and really enjoyed working with her.  Her look was fun and "All-American".  While we did some fashion styled looks, it was shots like this one which celebrated her age, accomplishments and confidence!

Even though graduation season is upon us, Markow-Kent Photography can still help you capture the emotions of this important step in your life!

Give us a call 602-264-6404 or email us.  We would love to work with you!

WATCH OUT WORLD!

This past Saturday, I spent some time with the two high school senior sisters pictured on the left.  As seen here, they were letting some "personality" show as only teenage girls can do!

Not only were the sisters fun to work with, but I have no doubt that both girls will be making impressions on everyone they meet as they move on from high school!

Watch out world - the Class of 2010 is about to show us what they've got!!

Two Markow-Kent Clients Working for Arizona's Interest

This week, I had the pleasure of attending and photographing for the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.  The Trust helps local non-profits through financial grants which help children, families, animals and the environment throughout Arizona.  One of the recipients this time was the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.  Attending on behalf of the Museum was Joe McGarry, partner from Lewis & Roca, another Markow-Kent client.  The mission of the Museum is to inspire people to live in union with the fantastic variety of species in our native desert without harm.

I urge you to learn more about the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust and local law firm Lewis & Roca by using the links here.  Our world is an amazing place and I am very proud of my association with clients who do their best to make Arizona a better place!

Casual CAN be for business!

When deciding how to project your image for business, you do not always have to wear a jacket and tie.  The key to a successful business portrait is to appear how your clients will meet you.  If you normally meet with clients in a suit, or if your profession is one where clients expect to see you in a suit, then you should wear one.  But, if you consistantly meet with your clients in casual attire, that is the way you should dress.  As this gentleman clearly shows,
confidence in yourself will shine through no matter how you dress!

If unsure how to dress for your business portrait, bring several changes along.  When you arrive we can discuss your occupation and together make decisions regarding your clothing.

Feel free to call 602-264-6404 and schedule your business session today!  No matter the industry, you cannot overlook the power of a visual presence on printed and internet materials.

Headshots are Great for Announcements, Websites, Business Cards and more!

Headshots are a great way to annouce new employees or promotions of current employees.  A professional image makes a lasting impression on websites or in the business journal.  Rather than placing an in-house snapshot taken against a white wall with a point and shoot camera on your companies' website, using a professional portrait will unify the look of your staff and create a continous flow to staff bios.

To see more about our business services, click here or visit the Corporate tab on our website.

Last Friday, the gentleman to the left came in as a new hire for HDR Engineering.  In about ten minutes, his session was complete and he was on his way to the office.  His proofs were available via email that day and once his selection was made, the retouched and delivered image was sent the HDR's marketing department by Monday.  To find out more about HDR, visit their website at http://www.hdrinc.com/.

Favorite Photo of the Day

When going through the archives today, I came across this image.  Although it was not what I really wanted the dog to do in this particular shot, I really like how the his expression of love for his owner caught her off-guard and made her laugh.  Sometimes, moments like these can change the mood of a session and both pet and owner will completely relax.

I am happy to report that Bubba is still the adoring buddy of this client!

Full Circle

Recently, I traveled to some of the schools where I photograph in the fall to take candid images of the 8th graders.  The candids are included in the yearbook.  The students usually pick a place on campus that they like or come up with an idea that they think will be funny or stand out in some way.

The photograph to the left is by far my favorite!  Here is a 6'5" eighth grader standing along side some of his preschool counterparts.  Amazing the difference that can take place in just a short nine years!  I especially love the little girl to his right with the spunky attitude :)

Two Great Brothers Serving our Country

It is great to meet the service men and women who are giving of their lives and talents to ensure our way of life as Americans.  Having the chance to meet brothers who are serving the country was even better.  I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the service people and their families for their service and sacrifice!
